The 2021 Easter Monday Mayoring Ceremony took place in two parts.

2021 Mayoring – Court Hall Garden

At 11am, the Mayor, David Page, was sworn in and John Clarke took the oath as a new Freeman.  This part of the ceremony took place in the garden of the Court Hall.

The Mayoring resumed at midday on Zoom.

Tony Moore, Mike Melvin, John Spencer, John Rodley, Robert Holland, David Merrifield, Carol Scoines, Berni Scott, Peter Cosstick, Stephen King, Rosemarie Roberts and Deborah Upton were sworn in as Jurats and trustees of the charity for the coming year.  David Merrifield continues as Deputy Mayor.  Freeman Jo Turner continues to be an active member of the Corporation as Curator of the Museum.

The assembly also marked the retirement of John Spencer after fourteen years as a member, two of them as Mayor.
