LATEST NEWS

Work has now begun on the first of our planned improvement projects for 2022. The cloakroom next to the entrance is being converted to include a purpose-built accessible toilet and cloakroom area.  The project will also include changes to the entrance lobby to improve access for those with impaired mobility. Work will be ongoing throughout March and April however the hall will remain open throughout and our programme of classes and events will continue as planned. Please be mindful of the work and take care as you enter and exit the building.

We are presently overhauling our stage lighting system, which we hope will be available for hire a little later this year. Also in the pipeline this year is the re-design and upgrading of the ladies and gents toilet areas. This is all part of a much wider programme to enhance and further develop all areas of the New Hall for use by the whole community.

To find out the many things the hall has to offer please check out the events calendar.

Licences

The hall has an entertainment licence, so you can perform, play music and watch films in the hall. The hall has an alcohol licence, but you may have to take out a temporary licence.

Fundraising

We successfully fundraised for new sash windows and would like to thank The Little Cheyne Court Windfarm (£5000), The Rye Fund (£500) and Jempsons. Also thank you to The Rye Community Shop for £1000 towards exterior decoration and Rother District Council for £975 towards the resurfacing of the front hardstanding.

Maintenance, repairs and improvements

We have carried out extensive refurbishment to the New Hall over the past few years. We have a  professional kitchen, new double glazed windows, accessible front door, new curtains, new stage curtains, exterior and interior redecoration and improved insulation to the roof all of which combine to make the hall an enjoyable and beautiful space!
