Another Fantastic Christmas Fete. Well done to Anita and the team for raising a tremendous £1600

The Summer Fair was wet and windy this year, but our dog show was bigger and better. Many thanks to the team and Crick for organising the dog show.

What a Fantastic Christmas Fete. Well done to Anita and the team for raising a tremendous £1300

Come along and enjoy a quintessentially English summer fete.

A Christmas Fair in true community spirit.

“We had more visitors than last year – about 300. We raised  £1390 which is also up from last year.  So it was a successful fair due to everyone’s contributions and help.” Anita

The summer fete was a wonderful success raising £2,700.

Thank you to everyone who helped and everyone who came.

We couldn’t have done it without you.

A warm and wonderful winter fair.

Thank you to everyone who helped and attended.

New Windows

Our next major project is to replace windows and we need to raise over £10,000. We are very grateful for funding from the Little Cheyne Court Wind Farm Community Fund (£5000) and from the Rye Fund (£500) towards the cost.

Exterior Decoration

Thank you very much to Rye Community Shop for £1000 towards renewing the external decoration.

Forecourt Resurfacing

Thank you to Rother Community Fund for £975 towards the resurfacing of the front hardstanding

New curtains are in progress

We have received funding from the Little Cheyne Court Wind Farm Community Fund and can now go ahead with ordering and making curtains for the Hall.

As part of the refurbishment of the hall, new curtains will replace the existing blinds and curtains. New rails are already fitted and curtains have been assessed. Good fitting black-out curtains will improve the hall for people using the projector for talks, film nights, stage nights and evening entertainment, on those bright summer evenings we are all looking forward to.

Three committee members trawled through hundreds of samples. After looking at many sample fabrics, three were put to town vote and the preferred fabric was sample B (the one with the small pattern). Thank you very much to all who voted.

New kitchen proposals

We have carried out many improvements to the kitchen, but there are some areas which need more substantial upgrading. We have an incredible £3,000 already pledged towards upgrading the kitchen. This will be looked into once we have a new heating boiler in place, which is situated in the kitchen.

New heating boiler in progress

We have received funding from the Little Cheyne Court Wind Farm Community Fund and can now go ahead with installing a new heater in the Hall.

We have new doors for the New Hall

From this

to this

Our new door has one part wider than the other, improving access for people with less mobility.

Thinking about the different abilities of our users has improved the hall for everyone. The new doors reduce draughts and outside road noise making the hall a better environment for all our users.

Thanks to committee member and architect Rob Mortimer for finding solutions and making it happen.

We have introduced new and efficient lighting to the hall which has a dimmer switch. This new system not only reduces our energy costs but also provides ambience for special events.

Fire Doors

These have been upgraded.

The fencing to the cricket field has been replaced. The wooden stakes were rotting and for health and safety, we needed to replace them.

Set up a yearly Standing Order with your bank. We have nearly 50 supporters who generously make an annual contribution of their choice to the upkeep of the hall, for the benefit of the community.

Volunteering at your Hall
