Christmas Events in Winchelsea in 2022
Winchelsea Christmas Windows – 10th to 31st
Over 60 residents are taking part this year, lighting their windows for Christmas. The event starts on Saturday 10th December and continues till New Year’s Eve. Windows will be lit from 4.30 to 8.30 each evening.
There is a trail guide, and copies are available in The Little Shop and the New Inn with a donation bucket. Further money will be raised for two charities: St Thomas’ Church and Dom’s Food Mission.
A Venetian Christmas with Winchelsea Arts – Friday 16th
A special candlelit concert at St Thomas’ Church celebrating the Italian tradition of the nine days before Christmas. Including Winter from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and Corelli’s Christmas Concerto. 7.30pm on Friday 16th December. Tickets £20 (free admission for under-18s)
Carols in the Court Hall
We are delighted to announce that Carols in the Court Hall is back. We couldn’t run it last year, so we are super excited that this traditional start to a Winchelsea Christmas will happen on Saturday 17th December at 7pm. For anyone who has not been before, singing carols with your neighbours in the beautifully decorated medieval hall is a lovely experience.
The event is hosted by FOAM, as a thank-you for the town’s support during the year, in maintaining our medieval gates, the Court Hall and the Town Well.
There is no charge, everyone is welcome, and a glass of wine and something to nibble will be on offer. Doors open at 6.30pm. We do hope you can start the festive season with us,
