On Sunday 14th October 2018 Judges and Magistrates were in Winchelsea for the East Sussex Judges Service which was held at St Thomas’
The High Sheriff of East Sussex asked if Winchelsea would host this year’s Service for judges and magistrates which was held at St Thomas’. The church was full for the event, and the High Sheriff hosted a reception afterwards at the New Hall. The Rector, the Revd Jonathan Meyer preached and the Bishop of Lewes, The Rt Revd Richard Jackson was present, together with the Lord Lieutenant of East Sussex, the Mayor of Winchelsea and other civic representatives.
