On 12th November 2016 a presentation was made in the Court Hall by Rye and Winchelsea Rotary Club to the team from Winchelsea, who took part in the Rotary Sponsored Walk in May.
Present at the event were Annie and John Spencer, Stuart Raine, Sue and Tony Davis, Stuart and Jane Elms with Lucy, Lorna and George Challand, Sheila and Robert Holland, Jean and Martin Owen. Also present were Rotary President, Colin Baker and Rotarian Gareth Mitchell.
Colin Baker presented Annie Spencer with the cup for the most money raised by an individual and then Jane Elms, with help from Lucy, the dog, accepted the Team Shield on behalf of the team. Altogether Team Winchelsea raised £675 plus £150 in gift aid. Annie expressed her thanks to the many Winchelsea residents who had generously supported her and the team. A special presentation was made to Lucy the dog, who appeared delighted, behaved impeccably and proved the most photogenic and relaxed of the team, when Gareth Mitchell kindly took photographs to mark the occasion.
After the presentation Jean and Martin Owen kindly hosted morning coffee for the team in their home on behalf of the Rotary Club.
