LATEST NEWS 

Autumn 2023 saw three generous grants from public bodies towards the upcoming complete refurbishment of the Hall’s Ladies WC facilities:  The Rye Fund have donated £1000 towards works to upgrade the original sash windows to double glazed sashes,  The Little Cheyne Court Windfarm kindly donated their maximum grant of £5000 towards the Builder’s costs and for new vinyl flooring,  Rother Community Fund agreed the granting of £3802 to top up our total public funding to 50% of the total budget.  On top of this, The Second Wednesday Society resolved at their AGM in December to generously donate £1000 from their reserves towards the proposed refurbishment works.
The New Hall Management Committee warmly welcome these financial contributions in support of our continuing programme of repairs and improvements. Many thanks to the donors and their support staff who facilitate this generosity!

Licences

The hall has an entertainment licence, so you can perform, play music and watch films in the hall. The hall has an alcohol licence, but you may have to take out a temporary licence. 

Fundraising

We still need to raise funds for our next big projects namely the upgrading and refurbishment of the ladies and gents toilets. Please let a committee member know if you would like to make a donation towards the new chairs (from £72 each) or the Toilets refurbishment (from £195 for each close coupled WC, other fixtures or fittings are available).  Being a charity, gift aid applies.

Don’t forget you can also help by joining the “100 Club” which is a local lottery to raise funds for good causes. For just £2 per month or £24 for the year you can have your allocated number entered into the monthly draw and a chance to win at least £100 cash each month. It’s not too late to join! Contact Rosemarie Roberts or Ali Casey to sign up and help with our fundraising.

Maintenance, repairs and improvements

We have carried out extensive refurbishment to the New Hall over the past few years. We have a  professional kitchen, new double glazed windows, accessible front door, new curtains, new stage curtains, exterior and interior redecoration and improved insulation to the roof and most recently an upgrade of the cloakroom and addition of a new accessible toilet all of which combine to make the hall an enjoyable and beautiful space!
