‘Night Wind’, the fifth concert in the Winchelsea Arts 2022-23 season will be given by pianist Misha Galant on Saturday 18th March 2023 at 7.30pm.

Misha Galant returns to Winchelsea to play a concert of works by Haydn, Scriabin, J S Bach, and Medtner.

Misha was staying in Winchelsea early last year while taking part in the Hastings International Piano Competition and gave a recital at St Thomas’s to raise funds for Ukraine when the war started.  He had been studying in Russia but has not been able to return and is based in the US.  You can read more about him here.

  • Haydn:  Sonata in C major. Hob. XVI: 50
  • Scriabin:  Prelude and Nocturne for Left Hand, op. 9;  Poème Satanique op. 36; Fantasie in B minor, op. 28
  • Bach: Organ Sonata No. 4 in E minor, BWV 528 (transcribed for piano)
  • Medtner: Sonata in E minor, op. 25 no. 2 in E minor, Night Wind
