Monk's Walk

The avenue which leads from Winchelsea towards
Hastings is still known locally as the Monk's Walk. The field on the left
between Greyfriars and the road is known as Monday's Market, when this was
the civic centre of the town and one of the main market places. Here too
was the old Town Hall and other public buildings. |
