Glorious sun marked the 2017 Winchelsea Spring Show.

This year the show attracted 180 plus entries – an increase on last spring. In spite of the early season there were plenty of daffodils to display, and because of the early season a much wider range of tulips than usual. In her last official engagement, Mayoress of Winchelsea, Ann Spencer presented the prizes to the overall winners in each category: Alice Kenyon (Floral Art) John Dunk (Flowers) Gilly Tugman (Pot Plants) and Maureen Pemble (Cookery). Alice also won the popular vote with her flower arrangement in an unusual container – purple tulips and pittosporum in a toast rack.
